Dr. Ana Bettencourt is an Associate Professor of the Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Lisboa (FFUL) and also member of the Instituto de Investigação do Medicamento (iMed.ULisboa). Dr. Ana is co-responsible for the course of Medical Devices of the Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences of FFUL, where also coordinated both editions of the post-graduate courses of “Update and Improvement: Medical Devices, from concept to market”.
Her research works are related to the development of new systems for localized delivery of antibiotics in the context of infections associated with implants. Currently, she is the National representant of the Technical Committee ISO/TC 194 “Biological evaluation of medical devices” by designation of the Instituto Português da Qualidade (IPQ) and also a representant of the CT 87 “Technologies for Healthcare”.
